Local martial arts instructor Howard Munding returned this month from teaching specialized Krav Maga defensive tactics and skills to members of elite military units stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC.
Munding, USA head instructor, Krav Maga Force, along with Laurian Lapadatu, chief instructor, Krav Maga Force, were invited to teach a two-day seminar for the elite soldiers.
“It was an honor and privilege to have been invited to share skills and techniques with these brave men and women. We all benefited from the experience,” Munding said.
Munding teaches a civilian version of the classes locally to adults as well. In October, Munding provided free training to more than 20 women in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Krav Maga is an Israeli self-defense system that was originally developed for the military and has been modified for law enforcement, security, and civilian applications.
Munding, a retired fire chief, is a sixth-degree Black Belt in the Chuck Norris System, a certified instructor in two Krav Maga organizations, and a certified defensive tactics instructor.
